General Rules

Northridge Farmers’ Market REGULATIONS

 1. NO vehicles under any circumstances shall drive or park over the black electrical lines, or in and over any of the landscaping and if seen a $25 repair fee will be required at the time of each occurrence.

2. No automobiles will be allowed in the Market area walkways after 4:30 pm sharp and before 9 pm! and at no time shall any vehicle or equipment stop at, park or block handicap: parking locations, thoroughfares, accesses or ramps.

3. THERE SHALL BE NO DUMPING OF ANYTYPE OF GREASE IN THE ANDY GUMP porto-potties! If grease is dumped into the porto-potties a $100 dollar cleaning cost will be required at the time of each occurrence.

4. Also watch out for, do not hit or get close to the blue electrical boxes.

5. YOU MUST CLEAN UP YOUR AREA & ALL YOUR TRASH AFTER THE EVENT. THERE SHALL NOT BE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AT ANY TIME DUMPING OF ANY TYPE OF LIQUID OR TRASH IN OR ON THE LANDSCAPING or in the storm drains.

6. The FMOCIH Market workers can pick up Market vendors’ trash bags only between 5 pm to 9 pm, and only if Market vendor notifies the worker.

7. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TRASH, EMPTY BOXES, OR EMPTY CONTAINERS ON THE GROUND IN THE DUMPSTER ROOM, BY THE TRASH CANS PROVIDED FOR THE CUSTOMERS, OR ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE MARKET (parking lot) AT ANY TIME and if seen or done a $25 fee will be required at the time of occurrence.

8. YOU MUST TAKE AND PLACE ALL YOUR TRASH INTO THE DUMPSTERS. THE ONLY DUMPSTER FOR USE IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE MACY’s SIGN (behind the roll up metal door).

9. No equipment, trash, products or anything shall be put in or on any of the landscaping at anytime. No participants shall step into or touch the landscaping at anytime.

10. If any trash is left in the Market area or on the ground by any dumpsters after 10:30 pm, every vendor who stays past 10:30 pm shall each be responsible to pay a $25 dollar fine.

11. No sales or soliciting sales shall be made before 5 pm and after 9 pm.

12. All Market vendors’ vehicles that are not parked in the Market, shall park their vehicles in the designated common area that is the two rows of the southeast corner of Tampa and the Mall driveway entrance in front of Macys or in the far west corner of the Pacific Theaters lot along Shirley Avenue not near Macaroni Grill restaurant. Parking in the designated area is a city regulation and is in order to prevent congestion and allows customers to come and park at the Market.

13. Crafters and Temporary Food Facility permites may not have their vehicles in the Market near their location. The Health Department states that only Mobile Food Facility permites and Farmers may have their cars near their location. Crafters have only a 10 X 10 foot space.

14. Sales amount comparison to and the amount of similar products at the Market is one basis in determining space size and location.

15. FMOCIH Inc/Coastal Pacific LLC can change the space size, availability, locations and products allowed to be sold with a seven-day notice.

16. Space prices are based on product and location, not on size of space.

17. All vendors are on a week-to-week tenancy with either FMOCIH Inc/Coastal Pacific LLC or the vendor able to terminate participation in the Market with a seven-day notice.

18. If you are not at your location by 4:15 pm sharp your spot will be given away.

19. There are no rain checks, refunds, or exchanges for another date.

20. If you do not notify on the load sheet, or call (805) 643-6458 and leave a message, and you do not show two times in a row, you will lose your spot and have quit the Market.

21. If you will not be at the Market for any reason it is essential for your neighbors’ sales that you call (805) 643-6458 and leave a message or mark it on your load sheet.

22. All vendors and farmers MUST have proper State, LA County and City permits, licenses and certificates prior to any sales and must follow all government laws and requirements.

23. The FMOCIH, Inc. Markets’ Food Booth Fire and City of Los Angeles Fire Department Requirements are to be completely adhered to before any flame or cooking is started. If any of them are not completely adhered to at any time the vendor shall not participate in the Farmers’ Market and can be terminated immediately without written notice.

24. All Farmers are required to bring their original embossed certificate every Wednesday, and have it out posted and displayed so the customers can see it.

25. All market participants that sell any type of food shall wash their hands and arms with soap after using toilet facilities and at other times to prevent contamination of food.

26. If any vendor who sells any type of edible food uses the Andy Gump portable bathrooms, they SHALL use only the two farthest north, not the two by Macy’s.

27. The Certified Farmers’ Market and it’s certified agricultural producers, then food, then farm & garden related items shall be given priority on all market space. The non-certified and non-food products will be allowed only as adequate space permits, and in non-priority locations, which shall be determined at the absolute direction of Coastal Pacific, LLC.

28. None of the following is allowed at the Market or allowed to be sold in the Market: knock-off merchandise of any kind, sunglasses, firearms of any kind, components for ammunition, explosives, lighters, knives, swords, daggers, and/or any type of weapons, grab bags, coin operated game machines of any kind, alcoholic beverages, drug or tobacco products/paraphernalia, body piercing, fortune telling, handwriting analysis, animals, birds, pets or living things.

29. Farmers that run out of the Frequent Shopper Program cards or stickers need to go to the information table by the music stage to receive more. Certified Farmers are the only vendors that can give out Frequent Shopper cards and stickers at one per customer per day.

30. All clamp-on lights are loaned and a $10 security deposit will be required that will be refunded when the light is returned to the Market Manager.

31. Only 3 prong extension cords shall be used. All fire lanes shall be clear of vehicles and equipment at all times.

32. Only the solid color of white is allowed to be used on the canopies with a green table cover. No canopy at all, or umbrellas of any color is also allowed.

33. White canopies or white sheets and green table covers may be given and set up for vendors by FMOCIH if they use a non-white canopy. The following security deposits will be required and will be refunded when the equipment is returned in the same condition: $175 dollars for the security deposit for the canopies with a $45 dollar a week fee; or $30 dollars for the security deposit for the white sheets with a $15 dollar a week fee.

34. If a non-white color canopy or a non-3 prong extension cord is used, FMOCIH Inc/Coastal Pacific LLC has the entitlement to take it down and remove it.

35. All crafters fees are due and payable in cash by 6 pm.

36. No conduct at the Market shall be unsafe, offensive, abusive, harassing, impolite, rude, negative, argumentative, mean, or otherwise inappropriate to a customer, market staff member, market manager, other vendors, or any official from a city, county or state agency conducting business within the Market confines and may result in immediate termination without written notice.

37. FMOCIH Inc/Coastal Pacific LLC and its designated agents shall implement and enforce all rules and regulations in a fair and equitable manner.

38. Violations of any rules, regulations, restrictions, terms, rental agreement, any of the above regulations, FMOCIH Inc/Coastal Pacific LLC policies, federal/state/county/city laws may result in the following displinary actions:

  • First offense:

An oral warning.
 

  • Second offense

A written notice of violation

  • Third offense:

A written notice of violation with a $ 50.00 fine.

  • Fourth offense:

A written notice of violation with a $ 80.00 fine or Market suspension of any length up to five months.

  • Fifth offense:

Termination from the Market.

Correction of condition and/or payment of fines are mandatory before re-admittance to the Market. All disciplinary actions will be reviewed by the Committee. The Disciplinary Committee is made up from vendors, landlords, FMOCIH Inc/Coastal Pacific LLC, and customers. You may appeal any disciplinary actions to the Disciplinary Committee at:

39. If inclement weather occurs on Wednesday call (805) 643-6458 at 12 noon Wednesday for status of Market.
